Yoga for Stress and Trauma
I am brand new to yoga. Can I do this?
Every single class in the series is beginner friendly. None of this is considered power yoga. Quite the opposite. Every class offers slow and mindful movement. Some classes are very gentle while others offer more physical exertion, but all have something for everyone.
DO I need to buy anything?
While it is helpful to have a yoga mat, it is not required. If it works with your budget, invest in a yoga mat and two 4x6x9 cork yoga blocks. Everything else you can find around your house (pillows, blankets, towels, etc.).

Can this be instead of therapy and/or medication?
Think of trauma-sensitive yoga and mindfulness as one of the many pieces of your healing puzzle. It’s not designed to replace anything you're already doing, but rather enhance the support you already have in your life. Direct questions of this nature to your doctor or therapist for consultation.
